Meatball Pasta


This protein-rich, healthy meatball pasta is a delicious and filling meal, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

  • 280 gr (WHOLE WHEAT) PASTA
  • 2 cloves GARLIC
  • 1 UI
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can (400ml) Diced TOMATOES


Step 1: Cooking Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of water to the boil. Add a pinch of salt and cook the whole wheat pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and set it aside.

Step 2: Prepare Meatballs

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, egg, 2 tablespoons of THE SPICE CLUB ITALIAN spice mix and the grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Mix everything well and form into 12-16 meatballs.

Step 3: Bake meatballs

  • Heat some olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and fry for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  • Then add the garlic and fry for another 1 minute.
  • Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through on all sides, about 10 minutes.

Step 4: Prepare sauce

  • Stir the crushed tomatoes and the remaining 2 tablespoons of THE SPICE CLUB ITALIAN spice mix into the sauce.
  • Bring the sauce to the boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to blend well.

Step 5: Combine Pasta and Meatballs

  • Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix gently so that the meatballs and pasta are well coated with the sauce.

Serve the Italian meatball pasta warm, garnished with THE SPICE CLUB TOPPING and possibly some finely chopped fresh basil for extra flavor and color. Buon appetito!
