The Spice Cub
0% Salt
At The Spice Club we do not add salt to our spice mixes, and that is a conscious choice. Many spice mixes in the supermarket contain salt as a cheap filler. As a result, you pay a lot for a product that hardly contains any herbs and spices. According to the Consumers' Association*, 75% of these mixes contain too much salt. Because manufacturers add a lot of salt to products (in addition to mixes, also to bread, ice cream, ready-made meals, etc.), we unconsciously consume an unhealthy amount of salt. The Kidney Foundation** reports that 85% of Dutch people consume more salt than the recommended 6 grams per day. This can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and kidney problems.
Our mixes are 100% pure, without salt and unhealthy additives. This means you get the full flavor and benefits of herbs, without the disadvantages of excess salt. This allows you to add salt yourself depending on your taste or health preferences, giving you full control over your salt intake.
