Texas Style Kip Vleugeltjes

Texas style chicken wings

Recipe

Enjoy the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and smoky with these BBQ-Style Chicken Wings. These wings are deliciously marinated in a homemade BBQ sauce based on ketchup, brown sugar and the Cajun Rub from The Spice Club. Perfect for a summer barbecue or a cozy evening meal!

ingredients

4 Persons

  • 250 ml ketchup
  • 50 g brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons The Spice Club American Rub
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 800 g boneless, skinless chicken thigh fillets

preparation

  1. Make the BBQ sauce: In a bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and The Spice Club Cajun Rub. Stir until well combined. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl or ziplock bag and pour half of the BBQ sauce over them. Make sure the chicken is completely covered in the sauce. Let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour (longer is fine for more flavor).
  3. Preheat the grill (or oven to 200°C) and remove the chicken from the marinade. Discard the used marinade to avoid cross-contamination.
  4. Grill the chicken thighs over medium heat for 5-7 minutes per side, until cooked through and an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). While grilling, occasionally baste the chicken with some of the remaining BBQ sauce for added flavor.
  5. Serve the chicken wings warm, with the remaining BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.

Information about salt

At The Spice Club we don't add salt to our products because we want to offer 100% pure ingredients, free from cheap fillers like salt and sugar.

If you want to add salt to dishes, you can of course. With our mixes, you at least have control over your salt intake, depending on your taste and health preferences.
