1-pan lentil stew


Enjoy a delicious lentil stew, enriched with the rich flavors of Moroccan spices. Easy to make and perfect for a nutritious weeknight meal, especially with a touch of The Spice Club's Topping for that extra flavor and crunch!


4 persons

  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2-4 cm ginger
  • 2 cans of lentils of 500 grams
  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 1 small jar of tomato puree
  • 4 tsp The Spice Club Maroc ·PURCHASE🛍️
  • 1/3 can of water
  • Optional: (vegan) cooking cream
  • The Spice Club Topping ·PURCHASE🛍️
  • Flatbread/naan/bread of your choice


Prepare the base

  • Finely chop the onion, crush the garlic cloves and peel and grate the ginger. Heat some olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and fry the onion, garlic and ginger until soft and fragrant.

Adding seasonings

  • Add the Maroc Mix from The Spice Club to the onion mixture and stir well. Let the herbs fry for a while until they release their aroma.

Add tomatoes and lentils:

  • Cut the tomatoes into pieces and add them to the pan together with the tomato puree. Stir everything together well and let it simmer for a few minutes. Then add the drained lentils and a third of the can of water. Stir well and let it simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.

Optional additions:

  • If you want to make the stew a bit creamier, you can now add (vegan) cooking cream and let it heat up for a while. Taste the stew and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • To serve: Spoon the lentil stew into bowls and garnish with The Topping from The Spice Club for extra flavour. Serve with flatbread, naan or bread of your choice. Enjoy your meal!
