Enjoy a classic Caprese salad with juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and a balsamic reduction. This fresh and tasteful Italian salad, seasoned with olive oil, garlic and The Spice Club Italian herbs, is perfect as a starter or light meal. To make quickly and wonderfully healthy!

ingredients

4 people

  • 80 ml balsamicoazijn
  • 2 eetlepels lichte bruine suiker
  • 1 teentje knoflook, fijngehakt
  • 3 eetlepels extra vierge olijfolie
  • 225 g verse mozzarella, in plakjes
  • 680 g tomaten, in plakjes
  • ¼ kopje verse basilicumblaadjes
  • 4 tl The Spice Club Italiaanse kruidenmix
  • Versgemalen zwarte peper, naar smaak

preparation

Step 1: Make balsamic reduction

  • Verhit de balsamicoazijn en bruine suiker in een kleine pan op middelhoog vuur.
  • Breng aan de kook en laat het 5-7 minuten zachtjes inkoken tot het iets is ingedikt.
  • Haal van het vuur en laat afkoelen.

Step 2: Prepare tomatoes and mozzarella

  • Snijd de tomaten en mozzarella in dunne plakjes.

Step 3: Compile salad

  • Schik de tomaten en mozzarella afwisselend op een serveerschaal.
  • Strooi de verse basilicumblaadjes erover.

Step 4: Add dressing

  • Meng de olijfolie met the spice club italian, de fijngehakte knoflook en sprenkel dit over de salade.
  • Breng op smaak met versgemalen zwarte peper.

Step 5: Serve

  • Besprenkel de salade met de afgekoelde balsamico en serveer direct.
