Make your own spicy Piri Piri sauce with fresh red peppers, peppers and The Spice Club Piri Piri herbs. Perfect for marinating chicken, fish or as a dip!

  • 4 grote rode paprika's
  • 4 grote rode pepers
  • 1 grote rode ui
  • 4 teentjes knoflook
  • 5 chilipepers
  • 100 ml olijfolie
  • 4 el The Spice Club Piri Piri kruidenmix
  • 100 ml citroensap (versgeperst)
  • 70 ml rode wijnazijn
  • 1 tl zwarte peper
  • Zeste van 1 citroen

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Verwijder de zaden uit de paprika's en de grote rode pepers (als je de saus minder pittig wilt). Snijd de paprika's, pepers, rode ui en knoflook grof in stukken.

Step 2: Bake the vegetables

  • Verhit de olijfolie in een grote koekenpan op middelhoog vuur. Voeg de gesneden paprika's, rode pepers, bird’s-eye chilipepers, rode ui en knoflook toe. Bak 10-15 minuten tot de groenten zacht worden en beginnen te karamelliseren.

Step 3: Blend the sauce

  • Doe de gebakken groenten in een blender of keukenmachine. Voeg de The Spice Club Piri Piri kruidenmix, citroensap, rode wijnazijn, zeezout, zwarte peper en citroenrasp toe. Blend alles tot een gladde saus.

Step 4: Let cool

  • Laat de saus afkoelen en proef. Pas de smaak aan met extra zout, citroensap of chilipepers naar wens.

Step 5: Store and serve

  • Giet de saus in een schone glazen pot. De piri piri saus is ongeveer 1 week houdbaar in de koelkast. Serveer met gegrilde kip, vis of groenten.

If you want to add salt to your dishes, you can, of course. With our mixes, you can control your salt intake, depending on your taste and health preferences.
