ingredients
4 persons
1 tablespoon of olive oil
300 grams of chicken cubes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 red pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (400 grams) diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons The Spice Club Shakshuka spice blend
Salt and pepper to taste
4 eggs
Fresh parsley, for garnish
The Spice Club Topping, for extra flavor
Crispy bread, pita or a side salad (optional, for serving)
preparation
STEP 1: Fry the Chicken
Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
Add the chicken cubes and fry until golden brown and done. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.
STEP 2: Prepare the Vegetables
In the same pan, add the onion and red pepper.
Cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for another minute, until the garlic is fragrant.
STEP 3: Make the Sauce
Add the diced tomatoes, The Spice Club Shakshuka spice mixture, salt and pepper.
Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
STEP 4: Add the Chicken and Eggs
Add the fried chicken cubes to the pan and stir well to coat them in the sauce.
Make four wells in the sauce and break an egg into each well.
Cover the pan and let the eggs set until desired doneness, usually about 5-7 minutes.
STEP 5: Serve and Garnish
Garnish with fresh parsley and THE SPICE CLUB TOPPING before serving.
If desired, serve with crusty bread, pita or a side dish of salad to create a balanced meal.
