Shakshuka with Chicken
Recipe
Discover the power of protein-rich meals with this delicious Chicken Shakshuka, enriched with the unique flavors of The Spice Club Shakshuka spice mix.
ingredients
4 persons
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 300 grams of chicken cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 red pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400 grams) diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons The Spice Club Shakshuka spice blend
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 eggs
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- The Spice Club Topping, for extra flavor
- Crispy bread, pita or a side salad (optional, for serving)
preparation
STEP 1: Fry the Chicken
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the chicken cubes and fry until golden brown and done. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.
STEP 2: Prepare the Vegetables
- In the same pan, add the onion and red pepper.
- Cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute, until the garlic is fragrant.
STEP 3: Make the Sauce
- Add the diced tomatoes, The Spice Club Shakshuka spice mixture, salt and pepper.
- Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
STEP 4: Add the Chicken and Eggs
- Add the fried chicken cubes to the pan and stir well to coat them in the sauce.
- Make four wells in the sauce and break an egg into each well.
- Cover the pan and let the eggs set until desired doneness, usually about 5-7 minutes.
STEP 5: Serve and Garnish
- Garnish with fresh parsley and THE SPICE CLUB TOPPING before serving.
- If desired, serve with crusty bread, pita or a side dish of salad to create a balanced meal.
