Fast and healthy chicken shoarma with Greek yoghurt sauce - ready in 20 minutes. Made with The Spice Club Shawarma mix, tender chicken, fresh cucumber and whole-grain pitas. Perfect for a nutritious weekday meal!

For the chicken shoarma:

  • 4 pita’s (bijv. volkoren of Libanees platbrood)
  • 500 g kipfilet of kippendijfilet, in dunne reepjes
  • 2 el olijfolie
  • 4 tl The Spice Club Shawarma-mix
  • Sap van ½ limoen
  • Handje sla (bijv. romaine, ijsbergsla of veldsla)
  • ½ komkommer, in blokjes gesneden

For the garlic sauce:

  • 200 g dikke Griekse yoghurt
  • ½ komkommer, geraspt en goed uitgelekt
  • ½ teentje knoflook, fijn geraspt
  • 1 tl The Spice Club Shawarma-mix
  • Sap van ½ limoen

preparation

1. Marinate the chicken Mix the chicken strips with olive oil, The Spice Club Shawarma mix and lime juice. Leave in at least 5 minutes (longer is always allowed).

2. Bake the chicken Heat a frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken for 6–8 minutes until golden and until golden brown.

3. Make the garlic sauce Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and put away cool.

4. Warm up the pitas Heat the pitas briefly in a toaster, grill pan or oven.

5. Serve Cut the pitas open or fold them in half. Fill with some lettuce, cucumber hot chicken and a large spoon of yoghurt sauce. Possibly some extra lime over it.

At The Spice Club, we don't add salt to our products because we want to offer 100% pure ingredients, free from cheap fillers like salt and sugar.

If you want to add salt to your dishes, you can, of course. With our mixes, you can control your salt intake, depending on your taste and health preferences.
