Try our simple and delicious recipe for Butter Chicken! Creamy sauce, tender chicken and spice mix make it perfect for every meal.

4 people

  • 1 eetlepel extra vierge olijfolie
  • 1 ui, fijngehakt
  • 4 teentjes knoflook, fijngehakt
  • 5cm gember, fijngehakt
  • 180 ml kippenbouillon
  • 1 blikje tomatenpuree
  • Zout en peper naar smaak
  • 4 tl The Spice Club currymix
  • 600 g kipfilets zonder vel en bot, in blokjes van 5 cm gesneden
  • 1½ eetlepel vers citroensap (van 2 citroenen)
  • 200 ml slagroom
  • Verse koriander, ter garnering
  • 400 g gekookte basmatirijst
  • The spice club coco & hazel (ter garnering)

preparation

  1. Kook de rijst volgens aanwijzing op de verpakking
  2. Verhit de olijfolie in een grote koekenpan op middelhoog vuur. Voeg de geraspte ui toe en bak tot deze zacht is, ongeveer 2 minuten.
  3. Voeg de knoflook en gember toe en bak nog eens 1 minuut.
  4. Giet de kippenbouillon in de pan en roer de tomatenpuree erdoor. Breng op smaak met zout, peper en The Spice Club currymix.
  5. Voeg de stukjes kip toe aan de pan en roer goed om te combineren. Laat sudderen tot de kip gaar is, ongeveer 15 minuten.
  6. Roer het citroensap en de slagroom door de saus en laat nog 5 minuten sudderen.
  7. Serveer de butter chicken met gekookte basmatirijst en garneer met verse koriander.
