ingredients

4 Persons

  • 800 grams of stir-fried vegetables
  • 300 grams of (whole wheat) rice
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tsp The Spice Club Indo mix
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, grated
  • 1 cucumber, sliced for garnish
  • The spice club poke (optional for garnish)

preparation

Step 1: Preparing the rice

  • Cook the (whole wheat) rice according to the instructions on the package. Let it cool and set aside. For an extra crispy effect, you can cook the rice a few hours in advance or even the night before, so that it can dry out properly.

Step 2: Frying eggs

  • Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the eggs to your liking (fried or scrambled). Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Stir-fry vegetables

  • Heat a dash of oil in a large wok or frying pan and add the finely chopped garlic, onion, red pepper and grated ginger. Cook over medium heat until fragrant and soft (about 3-4 minutes).

Step 4: Add vegetables

  • Add the nasi or wok vegetables to the pan and fry until done (about 5-7 minutes). Add The Spice Club Indo mix and stir well.

Step 5: Mix rice and sauces

  • Add the cooled rice to the vegetables in the wok. Add the ketjap manis and soy sauce and stir fry everything well until the rice is well covered with the herbs and sauces. Fry everything for another 3-4 minutes.

Step 6: Serving

  • Serve the nasi goreng with the fried eggs on top and garnish with cucumber slices for freshness. Add extra ketjap or soy sauce to taste.
  • Optionally garnish with The Spice Club Poke for extra crunch and flavor
