  • 600g ribeye, fat trimmed and sliced ​​very thinly
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 rolls or white points, cut lengthwise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 teaspoons The Spice Club American Rub
  • 8 slices provolone or cheddar cheese

preparation

  1. Prepare the garlic mayonnaise: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the grated garlic. Set aside for later. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Fry the onions: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 5-7 minutes until the onion is soft and golden brown. Remove the onion from the pan and set aside.
  3. Prepare the meat: Season the thin slices of ribeye with salt, pepper andThe Spice Club American Rub. Add the meat to the same skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until just cooked through. Stir occasionally to cook the meat evenly. Add the fried onions and stir well.
  4. Prepare the rolls: Brush the inside of the rolls or white buns with the soft butter and toast them briefly in a pan or under the grill until they are lightly crispy.
  5. Make the Philly Cheesesteak: Spread the garlic mayonnaise over the inside of each bun. Spoon the meat and onion mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and place 2 slices of provolone cheese on top of the meat. Close the bun with the top half.
  6. Melt the cheese: Place the buns under a grill or in a preheated oven at 180°C for 3 minutes until the cheese melts.

If you want to add salt to dishes, you can of course. With our mixes, you at least have control over your salt intake, depending on your taste and health preferences.
