Potato dish with minced meat and leek


Enjoy this tasty casserole with sweet potato, leek, minced meat and cheese. Easy to prepare and packed with delicious flavours. Perfect for a weeknight meal!

Step 1: Cook sweet potato

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into equal pieces of 3 cm and cook them in a large pan for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Preparing the minced meat-leek mixture

  • In the meantime, cut the leeks into rings, wash and drain.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil (per 4 people) in a frying pan.
  • Fry the minced beef over medium heat for 3 minutes.
  • Add the leek and The Spice Club potato herbs and fry for 7 minutes on medium heat.
  • Season with pepper and salt if necessary.

Step 3: Preparing sweet potato puree

  • In the meantime, grate the cheese.
  • Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them with a potato masher.
  • Mix in half the cheese and season with salt and pepper.

Step 4: Assemble and bake the casserole

  • Grease an oven dish with the rest of the oil.
  • Divide the minced meat-leek mixture over the baking dish.
  • Divide the sweet potato puree over it and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
  • Bake the oven dish in the middle of the oven for 25 minutes until golden yellow and done.
  • Turn on the oven grill for the last 5 minutes for a crispy crust.
