Spicy Tuna Toastade with Avocado


Enjoy these tasty Tuna Tostadas with a delicious avocado and tuna mix, perfectly seasoned with The Spice Club Mexican spice mix. A quick and healthy meal!


4 persons

  • 2 medium cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons The Spice Club Mexican spice mix
  • 1 lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons juice)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • bunch of coriander leaves and tender stems, wrapped
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 2 cans of tuna in oil, drained
  • 6 tostada shells
  • Hot sauce, for serving (optional)


Step 1: Preparing the Ingredients

  • Finely grate the garlic and squeeze the lime.
  • Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh.
  • Coarsely chop the coriander.
  • Finely chop the red onion.
  • Cut the tomato into small cubes.

Step 2: Preparing the Avocado Mix

  • In a medium bowl, combine the grated garlic, The Spice Club Mexican seasoning mix, lime juice and mayonnaise. Stir well.
  • Add the avocado and mash it with a fork until it becomes a smooth mass.
  • Season with salt and pepper.

Step 3: Assembling the Tostada Mix

  • Add the chopped coriander, red onion and tomato to the bowl with the avocado mix. Mix well.
  • Add the drained tuna and mix gently so that the tuna remains in coarse pieces.

Step 4: Assembling the Tostadas

  • Place the tostada shells on a serving platter.
  • Divide the tuna-avocado mixture evenly over the tostada shells.

Step 5: Serve

  • Garnish with additional coriander leaves if desired.
  • Serve with hot sauce for extra spice, if desired.
