Recipe

Enjoy creamy, delicious baked potatoes with a delicious cheese sauce, perfect as a side dish for any dinner. Our simple recipe combines tender potato cubes with a silky cheese sauce, flavored with The Spice Club Potato Seasoning for an extra kick.

ingredients

4 persons

  • 1.5 kg peeled potatoes (floury), cut into thin slices
  • 100 g unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 30 g flour
  • 240 ml chicken or vegetable stock
  • 4 tsp The Spice Club Potato Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500 ml whole milk
  • 200 g grated sharp cheddar cheese

preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Cook the potato slices in a large pot of lightly salted water until just tender, about 10 minutes. Drain and let dry.
  3. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and fry briefly until fragrant.
  4. Add the flour and stir well to form a roux. Fry the roux for a few minutes until it is light brown.
  5. Slowly add the stock, stirring constantly, to form a smooth sauce. Bring to the boil and let it thicken for a few minutes.
  6. Add The Spice Club Potato Seasoning, salt and pepper to the sauce.
  7. Add the milk gradually, stirring constantly, and cook until the sauce thickens.
  8. Add half of the grated cheddar to the sauce and stir until melted.
  9. Place the boiled potato slices in an oven dish and pour the cheese sauce over them.
  10. Sprinkle with the remaining cheddar cheese and bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
  11. Serve the fried potatoes warm as a side dish. Enjoy your meal!
