Recipe

Discover the healthy flavors of our homemade Italian tomato soup. Prepared with fresh tomatoes and our herbs. This soup is the perfect healthy comfort meal. Low in salt and full of vitamins.

Step 1: Fry onions and herbs

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
  • Then add the pressed garlic and 2 tablespoons of THE SPICE CLUB ITALIAN spice mix. Let this all cook for 1-2 minutes to release the flavors.

Step 2: Prepare soup

  • Add the halved tomatoes, 500 ml water and 2 tablespoons of THE SPICE CLUB GREEN GODDESS spice mix (or a stock cube) to the pan.
  • Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and let the soup simmer for 30-40 minutes. This gives the tomatoes time to soften and the flavors to develop.

Step 3: Puree soup

  • Use a hand blender or a regular blender to puree the soup until smooth. If using a blender, let the soup cool slightly first and be careful when transferring as hot liquid can splash.

Step 4: Season

  • Taste the soup and season with salt and pepper as desired. If you like a crunchy twist, you can add extra THE SPICE CLUB TOPPING for extra flavor and crunch.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve the creamy tomato soup warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves. It is a delicious soup with a surprising twist of THE SPICE CLUB spice mixes, perfect for both beginners and experienced chefs.
