4 persons
- 500 g stew vegetables (for example 400 g carrot and 1 large onion)
- 500 g floury potatoes or sweet potatoes
- 2 leaves The Spice Club Laurel ·PURCHASE🛍️
- 25 grams of butter
- Splash of warm milk
- Sprinkle salt and pepper
- 1 tsp The Spice Club Nutmeg ·PURCHASE🛍️
- 2 tbsp The Spice Club Smoked Paprika Powderr·PURCHASE🛍️
- Optional: (vegetarian) smoked sausage, meatballs or bacon
preparation
Step 1: Preparation of Vegetables and Potatoes
- Cut 500 g stew vegetables (or 400 g carrot and 1 large onion) into pieces.
- Peel and cut 500 g floury potatoes (or sweet potatoes) into equal pieces.
Step 2: Cooking Vegetables and Potatoes
- Place the sliced potatoes, carrots and 2 bay leaves in a large pot of water.
- Bring the water to a boil.
Step 3: Cook to Doneness
- Cook for 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
- Drain the vegetables and remove the bay leaves.
Step 4: Stamping and Filling
- Return the cooked potatoes and vegetables to the pan.
- Add 25 g butter and a dash of milk.
- Mash with a pestle until you get a smooth stew.
- Add extra milk if necessary.
Step 5: Season
- Season the stew with salt, pepper, paprika powder and nutmeg.
Step 6: Serve
- Serve with a meat, fish or vegetarian option of your choice.
