ingredients

4 persons

  • 450 grams of minced beef
  • 60 ml (low salt) soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons The Spice Club ginger
  • 240 ml of water
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 280 grams of rice of your choice

preparation

Start by cooking the rice according to the instructions on the package. Once the rice is cooked, keep it warm by covering it.

Heat a little oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook, stirring frequently, until fully cooked and browned.

Then add the ground ginger to the minced meat and fry for a minute until the aroma is released and the minced meat is wonderfully fragrant.

In a separate bowl, mix the low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari) with the brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Then pour this mixture over the minced meat in the pan.

Simmer the ground beef in the sauce until the sauce has thickened slightly and all the flavors are well blended, about 5-7 minutes.

Finally, add the frozen peas to the ground beef and sauce mixture. Stir well and simmer for a few more minutes until the peas are fully cooked.

Divide the warm cooked rice among the plates or bowls. Spoon the ginger-minced mixture generously over the rice. Garnish with extra chopped ginger for an extra kick. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious meal!
